This year’s Thanksgiving table was adorned with fall plants from the garden, which included persimmons, mini-pomegranates, pine cones, green shrub branches, brilliantly-colored leaves, and magnolia pods. I was fascinated by these pods, when a couple days after Thanksgiving, they began to open and all these crazy red seeds (berries?) started popping out. The coolest thing was that they would start out dangling from spider-web-thin white strings, which would later break and spill them onto the table. Isn’t nature enchanting?
